Passmore Edwards is a community service providing care & on going support & intervention for people with significant mental health needs. Hollmark were appointed to undertake a full design and refurbishment of the clinical staff toilet facilities.

Embrace the changes to the specification made by management as a positive, instead of a negative. Ensure this message is relayed to the team to maintain motivation and quality.

Scope of work

Strip out of services, walls of existing areas, including flooring
Formation of new partition wall
Formation & structure of new cubicle
Supply & installation of Trovex cubicle panel
Install insulation throughout
Installation of new ceiling
New ventilation system
Electrical design and installation
Installation of hygienic wall cladding
Installation of sanitary ware
New LVT flooring
Decoration throughout
Build new cleaners’ cupboard
First & second fix plumbing
Install a new flat roof including a new sky light

Onsite challenges

Limited space for materials and construction of the project. Materials therefore had to be delivered ‘little & often’ on a day to day need basis Good stock control management on site and in company vehicles was important to ensure operatives did not experiencedelays due to lack of materials
Change management requests – demanding, managing client expectation
Hollmark had to adapt to the working hours to minimize noise disruption and disturbance to patients which involved early starts. Moving around the site had to be under escort only, but the client team was very cooperative in ensuring this happened on request without hindering our progress.

The most recent being the refurbishment of a WC. The works included a new ceiling to be installed and complete reconfiguration of current layout.
