NET ZERO

CARBON REDUCTION & CARBON FOOTPRINT POLICY

This organisation recognises that the energy, products and services it uses cause emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere, resulting in climate change. As part of its commitment to sound environmental management, the organisation is committed to becoming net zero by 2050. With this in mind, the organisation will:

OUR COMMITMENTS:

  • manage energy consumption
  • carry out annual surveys to assess our progress against our targets and identify future energy savings and areas for waste minimisation
  • audit all policies to ensure that they are aligned with our net zero strategy
  • promote its carbon ambition to stakeholders and work with partners to reduce GHG emissions across the value chain
  • promote our net zero ambition to employees and raise awareness of how to reduce GHG emissions within their roles.

This policy will be reviewed annually and/or when changes occur that might impact the policy.

ACTIONS TAKEN TO DATE INCLUDE:

  • publishing a roadmap for GHG emission reductions, setting a base year and clearly outlining scope and methodology
  • establishing a dedicated fund for environmental improvements
  • introducing staff training to outline the company’s ambitions and to raise awareness of energy efficiency
  • transferring energy contracts so that all electricity supplied to offices is 100% renewable
