In addition to our FM Solutions, our NICEIC qualified electrical division can offer support in maintaining the integrity of your electrical installations and appliances.

All electrical installations suffer damage and natural deterioration throughout their operational life span. A fixed wiring test, also known as a Periodic Inspection or EICR(Electrical Installation Condition Report) is essential in assessing the electrical safety of the installation.

WHAT DOES AN EICR INSPECTION INVOLVE?

Electrically testing and visually inspecting the electrical installation to identify:

• Circuits or equipment over-loaded

• Potential shock and fire hazard risks
• Defective electrical work

• Highlight lack of earth/bonding

Hollmark is an NICEIC approved electrical contractor since 2003. Being part of the NICEIC gives our client the reassurance that our electrical workmanship conforms to industry standard. For continued registration with the

NICEIC, a mandatory annual audit is carried out.

During the testing process, the electrical engineer records areas which do not conform to the IEE Wiring
Regulations. They are coded in order of severity, as shown below and compiled into a comprehensive report.
The report will confirm that the installation is either ‘Satisfactory’ or ‘Not Satisfactory’.

• C1 - Urgent. Requires immediate attention.

• C2 - Potential Danger. Requires priority attention.

• C3 - Improvement Recommended.

In order for the electrical installation to remain compliant, codes C1 and C2 must be remedied.

How often should my premises be tested?

An EICR must ideally be carried out every 5 years for business premises and privately rented properties.

In the very unfortunate event that your business premises suffer a fire, and the building has not had a recent Electrical Condition Report (EICR) carried out or the appliances PAT tested (PAT), any insurance claim may be
invalid.
